A solid choice is an emulator with a user-friendly interface and broad support for past gaming systems.
I don't think any emulators have been combined into superemulators. It seems we're not yet capable of running 7th Gen consoles beyond the Wii, and emulating the original Xbox isn't feasible at this time. I might have missed a frontend that could launch many emulators, such as Steam's Big Picture mode, but I can't locate it.
Prior to that, I’m fairly certain we can mimic all the successful consoles. Unless you’d prefer me provide a list of emulators that I don’t particularly enjoy creating, you’ll need to locate them yourself. Also, what’s considered the “best” is really a matter of opinion and personal preference.
psx2 for the PS2 is likely what it was named—similar to a Dolphin emulator for the GameCube.
Looking for an emulator isn't always easy, MAME is the closest option. Finding the right one can be tricky, especially for arcade titles. The original Xbox version doesn't seem to be a priority, so focus on the games you care about. For older systems like the SNES9X Kega Fusion, EPSX Project 64, PCSX2 Dolphin, GBA, or VisualBoyAdvanced, there are emulators available. If you haven't mentioned any before, it's probably not worth your time. The ones listed above tend to be more reliable.
Discover authentic emulators at http://www.emulator-zone.com/ The original Xbox and Xbox 360 currently lack functional emulators for most players, as they remain in alpha or pre-alpha phases. PS2 emulation is improving steadily, and PCSX2 is highly recommended for that purpose. For a comprehensive solution, Retroarch offers the best Windows option: http://buildbot.libretro.com/stable/1.2.2/. I’ve tried it before and favor single console emulators over all-in-one ones.
Mednafen supports a variety of platforms: http://mednafen.fobby.net/ It combines the most widely used emulators into one application. A front-end interface is recommended, otherwise you must rely on terminal commands. Mednaffe is a solid option: https://github.com/AmatCoder/mednaffe. Mednafen handles: Atari Lynx Neo Geo Pocket (Color), WonderSwan GameBoy (Color), GameBoy Advance, Nintendo Entertainment System, Super Nintendo, Super Famicom, Virtual Boy, PC Engine, TurboGrafx 16, CD, SuperGrafx PC-FX, Sega Game Gear, Sega Genesis, Megadrive, and Sega Master System, plus Sony PlayStation.
