I’m currently in school and have noticed low-power PCs on campus that connect to a server and stream the OS via a hypervisor. I’m curious about what it is called but don’t know the exact name. I’d like to learn more and think Google might not be the best source for this information.

There are several reputable free brands you can explore. For learning, start with basic resources like official documentation, YouTube tutorials, and open-source communities. Regarding your vSphere 6.5 key, it provides the necessary support for installation and configuration within the platform.

I'm familiar mainly with Citrix, but I see several options available.

For future reference, those "low power PC's" are referred to as a Zero Client—direct link to the server without any local components—or a Thin Client—minimal local resources but with storage to improve connection speed, and once retired, can serve as low-cost HTPC solutions in most scenarios.
