I'm not familiar with Kingsoft Office, but I can help you evaluate whether it's a good choice based on common feedback and features. Consider what your needs are before deciding.

When it's available, what issues might arise? I haven't tried them yet, so I can't share thoughts. I've used LibreOffice and OpenOffice, and they performed well.

It hasn't been around before, so I can't compare it directly to MS Office. Let me know what you think!

I previously used it, and I think it significantly outperforms OpenOffice and LibreOffice. Still, Office remains ahead of Kingsoft Office. You can also access it for free as a student, or purchase Office 365 for two PCs or devices for $80 over four years. This gives you Office 2013 plus a free upgrade to the next release when it launches next year. The subscription includes the entire suite—Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, Access, Publisher, and InfoPath.
