After a brand new Windows 10 setup, some applications won’t install despite the system being very recent. Running the SFC scan confirmed everything was clean. Consider checking for corrupted files or trying a clean installation.

Did you complete the Windows 10 updates prior to installing anything? That could be the reason. For me, I would perform a clean install, then apply an update and wait for the latest version before proceeding. After the update, I install an antivirus. Then I begin using all the programs I need.

It seems like you're questioning the installation status. Were you downloading the newest version, or did you get it from a backup? If it was from backup, I'd attempt a fresh download.

I utilized the Windows Media Creation utility to generate a live USB, likely installing the most recent Windows 10 ISO.

I looked into the other programs you attempted to install.

It seems unclear what "prog" refers to. The setup you described includes Steam, MSI Afterburner, a keyboard LED software, and several apps from the Microsoft Store like Netflix, Spotify, and Telegram Messenger.

It's hard to find some programs that haven't been updated with the newest Windows release. I'd just ignore them unless you require them.

He likely wouldn’t have sought out the forums if they weren’t necessary for him.

Let's explore alternative approaches. I've set up a folder named "progs" on the default drive with full access rights for all users. Attempting to install software into this directory should work.

Could you share any unusual symbols in your username or password? Also, verify the permissions in the AppData area of your profile.

Please confirm if you've removed any antivirus software completely, not just turned it off.

I'll also ask about background tools that appear in the system tray—any helpful utilities for Windows?
