I just put in my new motherboard and CPU. I switched from B450 with Ryzen 5 3600 to B650 with Ryzen 5 7600x. After installing everything, my games keep crashing and the GPU stress test fails too. I updated the BIOS, drivers, and even did a fresh Windows 11 install but the problem persists. I’m confused—could someone help me? Here’s what I have: CPU, Ryzen 5 7600X, motherboard, GPU, RAM, PSU.

No, I haven't downloaded the correct chipset drivers yet.

They seem to imply we should focus every effort on fixing this problem. (Did the rep0rt button get broken?)

I discovered the answer. My GPU Riser uses a Gen3 cable, so I needed to adjust BIOS settings. Also, I’m curious if the difference between these generations impacts performance.

PCIe version comparison depends on the specific x16 or x8 configuration. For a 3070Ti it's likely x16, and even a 4090 might barely reach that. If it's x4, like some recent AMD cards, downgrading to PCIe 3.0 could reduce performance. X2 PCIe 5.0 equals x4 PCIe 4.0, which matches x8 PCIe 3.0, and that's x16 PCIe 2.0.
