I assembled my new PC at the beginning of June and faced no issues until the final two weeks. Each game would crash after 20-30 minutes of play. Sometimes the program would close completely, other times it would restart the entire system. I haven’t overclocked any part yet, but discovered I shouldn’t run the 3070ti on a single split daisy chain connected to an 850W power supply. I fixed it quickly using two 8-pin PCIe daisy chain connectors. The problem persists—games would freeze briefly or crash, turning red, black, and blue before restarting everything. Anyone know what’s happening? Any advice would be appreciated.
It resembles the behavior of your dad's HiSense TV during the motherboard failure.
You can try running diagnostics or stress tests specifically on the game to isolate the issue. Since you've updated drivers and daily tasks work normally, focus on gaming sessions for targeted troubleshooting. A GPU benchmark result is a good starting point but may not pinpoint the exact cause.
You could switch to another screen if the issue continues; it may indicate a GPU or RAM problem. Essentially, my 5900X needs reassembly since the RAM I had wasn't listed on the board manufacturer's QVL. During the time an RMA was considered, the DIMMs—though working well in the 5900X's Asus TUF B550-PLUS board—failed in an ASRock B450M-HDV unit. Main issues were audio and audio/video interruptions, with one DIMM not even booting and another failing today. I replaced the RAM from ASRock's QVL list, and it worked perfectly, which eased my worries about a GPU problem. You might also want to verify your board's manufacturer RAM QVL for accuracy. Many people say RAM is just RAM, but it’s important to be specific with SKU/part numbers, not just specs. Edited August 14, 2022 by An0maly_76 Updated with more details
You can check the QVL list on the manufacturer's official support pages or contact their customer service for assistance.
CPU usage is typically between 29-33°C, while GPU stays around 40°C. For more demanding games, it jumps to 45-55°C CPU and 60-70°C GPU—nothing too concerning. Here are your 3DMark stats with temperatures: https://www.3dmark.com/3dm/78462528. Regarding the QVL list for your Asus Strix Z690-A, I couldn’t locate it online.
I didn't limit the exact selection. It's important to specify your board's full model, but here are some alternative options I found... https://www.asus.com/us/searchresult?sea...chKey=Asus Strix Z690-A&page=1 Choose the one you like. Once it loads, look for the section labeled "Features - Tech Specs - Awards - Gallery - Where To Buy - Support." Click on "Support." When that page appears, select the "CPU / Memory Support" tab. There you'll find choices for processors, RAM speeds, timings, etc., and a search bar to look up your specific part number or SKU. If no matches appear, it probably isn't listed and may not be fully compatible. NOTE: After reviewing supported options, consider checking GPU compatibility as well.
