Software installation failed properly.
Hello. I recently acquired a used PC with solid specifications, and it functioned well during initial testing. After running some benchmarks, everything seemed normal for a short period. I then reinstalled Windows just to ensure a clean setup, especially since this was my first experience with Windows 11. However, installing software has become challenging. While I can sometimes launch game launchers after multiple attempts, installing any other program consistently fails. It feels unusual because I manage to get things working occasionally, but the process is unreliable. I've attempted DISM and SFC commands to fix potential problems, but these too encountered errors—like "Remote procedural call failed" or "Windows resource protection could not perform requested operation." I also tried resetting Windows, which completed the scans without issues. Despite these efforts, I still face difficulties installing anything properly. There were several BSODs before and after the reinstall, including codes like "3b" and "System Service Exception," which appeared randomly during simple tasks such as downloading files. I checked Group Policy settings, but they seemed fine. Additionally, I noticed a strange issue where certain buttons stopped responding—like Edge not launching until I restarted the PC, or drivers failing to install through GeForce Experience. After reviewing all error messages, it seemed the SSD might be the culprit, though chkdsk showed no problems and CrystalDiskInfo reported good health. I've spent about six hours troubleshooting, but I'm still stuck. Anyone have experience with this situation? Any suggestions could help? TLDR: Windows 11. I encounter errors during software or update installations, multiple BSODs, and SFC/DISM failures. Reinstalling multiple times hasn't resolved the problem.
You revert to Windows 10 and may need to reinstall or update certain settings.
It was installed on Windows 11, not Windows 10. I'm curious if testing it on Windows 10 could provide useful insights.
Hello once more. I found a solution on another forum and figured out the problem. -------------------END POST---------------------- Just a joke. I installed memtest86 on a USB drive, which showed over 10k errors during testing, suggesting possible RAM issues. After replacing the faulty RAM with a few working ones from my main system, everything installed correctly without any errors or crashes. It looks like the problem was with the RAM itself.
