A few days back, I decided to buy a 50 buck server with dual Xeon processors on socket 604, 3.2ghz, 1GB of ECC RAM, and 1 core (hyperthreaded). It came with 1GB of DDR2 memory. The machine is a Dell Poweredge 1850. I’m unsure what SUSE version it’s running. My intention is to install Red Hat on it. The trouble began when I couldn’t locate any downloads for Red Hat 5.2—the latest version supported by the Dell drivers.

I wasn’t sure about that initially, but it’s worth a shot. I’ll check it out later, and I’ll return to this forum once everything is sorted. Just make sure my server post goes to the old monitor, okay?
