I'm searching for NVR software compatible with five Hikvision cameras. Since I can't buy a dedicated NVR unit, I plan to use Hikvision IVMS4200 software for monitoring. I'm considering a laptop that can act as an NVR, and I expect it to work similarly. The main question is whether this software is essentially the same as Hikvision's IVMS4200. From what I've seen, it seems to be more about the storage server setup rather than a true NVR solution. If anyone has experience, I'd appreciate their insights.
