I need some recommendations for affordable or free file management tools. I’ve been using PowerDesk for years, but recently bought a new version which was free forever. I just got version 9 for around $40. The old and new versions look and function exactly the same. I’m looking for software that performs similarly but actually works well. PowerDesk is organized with four vertical panels: file tree, folder contents, file tree, and folder contents, making it easy to move files between locations. I also tried a shareware version of Total Commander, but I won’t buy it because its functionality isn’t to my liking. I also purchased GoodSync to sync two external hard drives, but it didn’t work properly.

I don’t want automatic backups and am seeking reliable, free or low-cost file management solutions. Someone with suggestions would be great. If you could point me in the right direction, it would be even better!

Thanks,
Ryan

I believe Windows's built-in Files manager works well.
