Software for managing fans
Software for managing fans
Yes, there are tools that let you adjust CPU fan speeds without accessing BIOS. One popular option is **HWiNFO** or **Core Temp**, which provide detailed system monitoring and control. For your ASUS Sabertooth Z87 motherboard, you can also use **ASUS BIOS Utility** to tweak settings directly from the BIOS menu if needed.
It's a great option called AIsuite that comes with many Asus boards. Visit the official Asus site, locate your board, head to support, then drivers. Pick your OS and go to utilities to download the latest full AI suite 3. While it isn't perfect for everything, it handles most tasks well and manages fan control effectively.
For curved paths, Speedfan works best. When it comes to steady speeds, I prefer OpenHardwareMonitor.
I’d like to enhance this post. My old ASUS Rampage 2 Extreme board ran AI Suite to its best, but now I can’t see it on Windows 8. I’m curious if anyone knows how to get AI Suite 3 by default without needing a specific motherboard. Is this feasible as a standard program these days? What does AI Suite II/III USB 3 Boost look like? It seems similar, but I’m not sure how to locate it on Windows 8.1 with the default settings. http://support.asus.com/download.aspx?SL...ools&os=29 The same applies to this file—hard to tell what it is or how to install. I haven’t heard of the site before, but it looked promising as a last-ditch effort. My main concern is keeping my CPU fan at the same speed it was on Windows 7; otherwise, things could get too hot if I skip the “turbo” option. http://ai-suite-3.software.informer.com/1.0/
Speedfan is quite pleasant with plenty of choices. It also has a very small size.
