Premiere Pro works well though it comes with a higher price tag. I haven't tried Sony's Vegas yet, but it's said to perform nicely.

Reminder, Lightworks is a complimentary NLE as well. You might want to explore it. (Thelma Schoonmaker, a prominent editor of Hugo, is rumored to use Lightworks)
