Look for a free video editor that supports screen capture and audio recording. You’ll want something user-friendly, like Pewdiepie’s style, with a simple way to add yourself in the corner. The software should let you record both video and sound from another camera, then import everything onto your computer using an SD card.

I’d prefer OBS for recording screens, though I’m not sure about the video editor. I have Premiere Pro, but it’s more expensive.

I understand you were expecting open-source options, but I couldn't locate any free software that meets that requirement. TechSmith's "Camtasia Studio" offers screen capture and webcam input, priced at $299 for a home version.

Find great Camtasia tutorials. High-quality recording tools are available without purchase; you can often find them through sources like PirateBay.

Pirating is an offense many find difficult to carry out. You're correct, it's possible, but the software is worth its price if used often. REMEMBER: I don't support or endorse piracy.

The video will be run by two teenagers who attend school. Piracy seems like a good idea.

Camtasia isn't suitable for recording game videos. I use FRAPS instead and highly suggest it. It tends to have larger file sizes compared to Camtasia. XSplit could also be worth considering.

Using Mirillis Action! is a seamless experience without slowing down your system. It offers high-quality recording and even supports Intel’s QuickSync (IvyBridge and newer). Users praise its performance, noting no lag during recording and better results than Fraps. I frequently create my montages with this tool. You can find more info at http://mirillis.com/en/products/action.html. It’s priced around $50.

It's true, I haven't used it in over a year, but I think you're capable of recording offline. You can configure it to match your preferences with your webcam or any other video source included, eliminating the need to add it later. This works well if your recording device has an output you can connect to your PC. It really depends on your needs and what's available. Since you mentioned an SD card, I suggest using Camtasia. I also suggested XSplit if your camera can be directly linked to your PC.
