I've managed to get my older Dell OptiPlex FX160 running again after some troubleshooting. It still works, though it's not exactly ideal. For the operating system, you might want to consider Windows 7 or later, as those are more stable and support modern drivers. If you need RDP with sound enabled, make sure to install the latest audio drivers for your graphics card. You could also try a lightweight Linux distribution like Lubuntu or Xubuntu if you prefer a more minimal setup.

Choose Arch Linux version 32 or a lighter Debian distribution with a minimal DE package.
