Software detected Asus Crosshair 8 DH matching the H510m-k R2.0 model.
The title is somewhat unusual compared to bios, which generally provides accurate details. In software, it appears to be interpreted as an intel board. I’m curious about possible ways to fix this or understand how it originally occurred. (Windows was just installed and the BIOS was re-flashed without success.) Only certain programs like ArmouryCrate seem to handle it well, though most users haven’t encountered it before.
It seems the details are a bit unclear. Windows displays it as the Intel board regardless of commands or tools used. Armoury crate, NZXT Cam, and similar utilities all recognize it that way. This is quite confusing.
It seems unusual. On your machine it appears as an 8th-dark hero crosshair in CPU-Z/hwinfo64 details.
CPU-Z reports it as the titled but with a x570 chipset (like the NZXT cam software too) sys info also sees it as an intel one. It does cause weirdness with fan control but thats mainly thanks to armoury crate seeing as the H510m board too I think. Its been great otherwise I'm just unsure how its even possible, whether its an error from factory or something else. I'll try HWinfo tomorrow as I can't remember what that reported but it'd be amusing to see. I don't suppose there's much to be done about it, given what I've tried as is. Another thing to note is in software the bios version is reported wrong too, like its the H510m ones detected thing. Mines on the 5201 bios currently but windows states 0602 Software conflicts at their finest I guess.
It seems like you're reporting a potential software issue with your drivers. I'll check the details and let you know if anything appears to be wrong. Your CPU-Z screenshot is helpful for reference.
Drivers often install fine, amd chipset and asus board ones, which adds another layer of confusion. I need to verify CPU-Z again tomorrow, since I think the model mentioned might be incorrect and the BIOS could be partially corrupted or misinterpreted by software. The main issues I've noticed are inconsistent lighting behavior and unusual fan settings with profiles or configurations.
I’ll try the updated BIOS version first and let me know what happens. Did you notice it’s a single-board design as well, and might the prior owner have contributed to that?
It seems you're questioning how an H510M BIOS could be flashed onto a board that verifies its BIOS software before proceeding. Make sure to inspect the motherboard, especially around the PCIe slot and the TPM J header, to confirm the BIOS chip wasn't swapped in.
