Hey everyone, I’ve been using an old i7-6700 with 32GB RAM for music production since 2006. Recently, I noticed my CPU hits around 90% when opening certain plugins. Since I can’t afford a new CPU or motherboard, I’m looking for a GPU that won’t slow me down and could help with rendering short videos. I found a used ASUS GTX 1050 Ti at a good price, but before buying, I’d appreciate your thoughts. Is this a total waste of money? Could I really get any benefit without an upgrade? Thanks a lot! Thiago

It seems you're unsure about what's happening below, but it appears to be mainly CPU-related work. The GPU would only assist with video rendering, probably. You'll need more information about the audio components.

You're working with plugins that generate and play music from MIDI and synth audio. During final mixing, your system's CPU usage hits around 75% while the GPU stays at about 25%. Your plan is to upgrade from relying on CPU to using a dedicated GPU for smoother performance. Thanks for reaching out!

25% GPU usage is nearly inactive. It seems like a CPU workload. Consider upgrading to a better CPU for enhanced performance.

Music rendering mainly relies on CPU processing with a single-core focus.
