Hello, I'm just beginning to play No Man's Sky and I want to monitor my system performance during the game. The requirements listed for NMS say 8 GB of RAM, but I thought that meant VRAM. While launching, my RAM usage jumps to 12 GB then drops to 5-6 GB. The GPU RAM never exceeds 4 GB. Someone else is noticing this and wondering why the system uses RAM instead of VRAM. Also, I changed the core count in the INI file to use all 8 cores. The game becomes very choppy at that setting, but it runs smoothly when I reduce it to 4 cores. Anyone else tried similar adjustments and saw different outcomes? If my specs aren't matching, I'm using an FX8350 with 12 GB RAM and a RX480 gigabit network. P.S. Was that person letting me play while they were there? Did they get in trouble for it?

The issue seems to stem from normal RAM usage during loading, not a fundamental problem.

It's perfectly fine. I had the impression that Vram is quicker than system RAM. That’s why I’d consider using the faster RAM for gaming.

The graphics card relies on VRAM, while the CPU depends on system RAM. The mention of an 8GB RAM requirement actually pertains to system RAM.
