Hi, I've been using Win 8.1 64bit for a while now. Over the past week, I've noticed some audio problems. No sound at all, just silence. I'm using a Fiio E18 external DAC/AMP connected via USB to my PC. It's been working fine before, but now it keeps cutting out completely. When I try to adjust the volume from the bottom, it just closes abruptly. Restarting the PC seems to fix it temporarily. I've updated my audio drivers, but the device still disappears from the Device Manager. Some online sources suggest fixing it with a sys file, but I'm not sure if that's reliable. My system has an Asus Maximus VI Hero board and an i7 4770K OC. Could someone here help me resolve this?

Go back to the earlier audio drivers you were using.

That's the concern, the problem began unexpectedly. Everything was normal before using the same audio drivers. I don’t even rely on built-in audio. The only app I recently added was TeamSpeak, which I upgraded to the newest version—nothing else. I’m puzzled as to why this happens. My PC functions properly, but after about four hours of use, the sound disappears, even though I’m using an external AMP/DAC powered via USB. Anyone can assist me with this issue? Thank you!

Try removing TeakSpeak and observe the outcome. I understand it affects your audio settings.
