I'm having trouble finding a clear solution to this issue, but I'm sure you can assist! Task: I'm assembling an old Pentium PC using a S1468 motherboard, socket 7, with a Pentium 133MHz processor. Problem: the internal caps (old ones, not replaced or damaged) are sticking out too much, preventing the CPU from seating flatly or flush in the socket. They can't be pushed down. There are three of them causing the problem. Any ideas? Thanks!

Here are the images! I suspect the black area beneath the CPU isn't letting it sit correctly.

Yes, epoxy sealed caps are commonly found in sockets. These designs can be challenging to fit into tight spaces, which is why they’re often used where space is limited.

These caps are designed for larger components, not tiny spaces. To secure the board, you’ll need to solder it yourself.

They don’t specify the materials, but the packaging is their main feature. There are compact boxes that fit more easily in small areas, which isn’t what I was anticipating.

Yes, you're referring to ceramic caps made of tantalum.

what would they be doing there interfering with the CPU? i dont know if this was manufactured on all of these boards or some error just on my board! did intel make any other pentium, that i dont know about fit this socket without the caps being a problem? and i did check the socket itself to make sure that the socket or board wasn't bent this is just strange to me!

I'm really struggling with soldering. Any tips would be super helpful! If not, I could list it for sale since it includes a coast module. Thanks to everyone who supported me!
