Curious if others are facing similar issues with their Ryzen 7000 SoC voltage staying above 1.3V. I’m seeing sudden spikes even after updating to the latest non-beta ASUS BIOS, and they vanish quickly once they start. My system runs Hwinfo64 for alerts when voltage exceeds 1.3V, but it triggers randomly and rarely. Specs: CPU 7950X, SoC voltage originally 1.2V with PBO-15 on all cores. Motherboard is ASUS ROG STRIX B650E-I Gaming, RAM is G.Skill Flare X5 32GB (2x16GB) at 6000MHz, GPU is MSI Ventus 4080 X3 OC, PSU is Cooler Master V850 SFX. I’ve fine-tuned BIOS settings and the system runs smoothly after stress tests. Compared to the initial beta BIOS (version 1602), which fixed the problem, my version 1616 seems to have inconsistent spikes above 1.3V even with manual adjustments. Anyone know why this drift occurs? Would it help if a BIOS version limited SoC voltage below 1.3V? Also, is there a chance Hwinfo64 might be misreading the readings? Screenshots of BIOS versions 1602 and 1616 are available for reference.

It appears ASUS motherboards continue to require a higher SOC voltage, even though the BIOS notes cap it at 1.30V. My research indicates this comes from a Gigabyte statement. Currently, you shouldn't trust the board to set the SOC voltage automatically; you must manually adjust the CPU's SOC voltage and related settings. This means you should also fine-tune the CPU's Load-Line Calibration (LLC) instead of relying on the auto mode.

I appreciate the details. I checked SOC Load-Line Calibration but found limited information. I adjusted the calibration to level 3 and kept the SOC voltage at 1.2v. I’ll let you know if I notice spikes above 1.3, then I’ll tweak the SOC LLC accordingly. See how it affects things.

SOC voltage remains above 1.3, so I’ll reduce the SOC LLC back to level 2 and check again.

SOC voltage remains above 1.3 even with SOC LLC at level 2. I’ll reduce it once more for additional testing.

The AMD guide mentions spikes up to 1.35 SOC are typical for this model, which seems normal. Your BIOS setting of 1.3 might be too restrictive—checking if 1.3 works is reasonable. Your MSI X670e ACE with a voltage of 1.304 at the highest is within expected ranges.

Recent updates on my SOC voltage testing show that reducing the SOC LLC (Load Line Calibration) to 1 still causes a spike to 1.47v for a couple of seconds. I adjusted the target to 120% instead of the default 140% in the BIOS, and currently no spikes have occurred during testing. This change comes after recent announcements about the SOC voltage threshold dropping to 1.3v or lower.
