We recently got to try out a nearly completed version of Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3. For the first time, it included actual scenes from the story. Yet even in the opening cutscene we quickly wondered—still is this a shooter or have we entered the middle of a porn scene? I’m not sure about the NSFW part ;p
I found this moment really engaging for the narrative—it adds depth by making it feel more authentic.
Opening with explicit content isn’t inherently problematic; it depends on context, audience expectations, and how it aligns with the rest of the work. Games like God of War and The Witcher have used such openings to grab attention, but public reaction varies widely. What matters is balancing style with sensitivity to what players expect.
