I understand this setup is quite old, yet I’m consistently achieving over 100 fps in CS:GO at low resolutions like 800x600. Performance drops to around 40 fps when there’s smoke or during flashing events. It seems the issue lies with either the CPU or the GPU.

This seems unusual, but it affects many individuals.

Often I've noticed in games that my teammates advised me to stop using smoke effects because they were causing lag, probably due to GPU issues.

Used to believe avoiding smoke effects reduced CPU strain, which in turn prevented lag. The CPU had to focus on drawing the smoke. Ironically, this would ease the workload on your processor.

All settings are already adjusted to the minimum level. There is no option for smoke effects available.
