Smite advice (MOBA noob)
Smite advice (MOBA noob)
Hey everyone! I was browsing through some Twitch streams and stumbled upon a few Smite games. Not really into that game type before, but it seemed entertaining, so I tried it out. In short, I’m hooked now. The theme is cool, and the over-the-shoulder perspective fits better than the usual top-down view in most MOBA games. Right now I focus on arena mode because I’m new to MOBAs, but I really want to improve. My main concern is avoiding mistakes during matches—under standard rules it’s tricky, and I often get criticized for being too aggressive or making errors. I’ve heard there are no magic fixes, but any tips or tricks to steer clear of rookie blunders would be great! Thanks for the advice!
I’d also consider purchasing Gods, as they assist significantly in avoiding being labeled a 'noob' during the match.
I haven't played Smite, but it's worth trying each character to understand their abilities. This helps shape your approach and gives insight into effective play. Understanding the basics is crucial—knowing when to engage or pull back is essential. If you're facing most of the opponents, assume you might be targeted by others. Recognizing common movement patterns can help you anticipate actions even when they're not visible. Tactics matter more than just raw power; many players overlook strategy and end up stuck. A smart move is to focus on planning rather than relying solely on strength. In lower-level games, it's common for teams to wait for a teamfight instead of taking initiative, which can cost them the advantage.
Also remember this: after a tough loss, reflect on your mistakes and avoid repeating them unless absolutely necessary. In games like Dota and LoL, many players overlook this point—sometimes you need to be tougher. It's not enjoyable, but unless it was just a lucky moment, you're likely to get worse if you don't adjust. The most effective way to grow as a solo player is to honestly assess yourself. No matter who controls the game, focusing on your team will help you improve.
