So I have a minor virus problem, its not pc breaking but annoying and needs to be addressed. What's happening is all or most of my ram is being cached and it's annoying every time I open a new program it takes longer than it should, otherwise everything seems to function normally, ram usage is normal too like 1.5gb to 2.0gb on idle and up to 3gb when browsing and light stuff I use avast anti-virus free, malwarebytes and hitman pro pc spec windows 7 home basic 64bit 8gb ram core i5 2450m

Ensure you're scanning with malware detection tools. Also, look for unusual processes in the task manager. Your system might be becoming sluggish.

The process manager shows normal activity without any unusual behavior; it hasn't begun rapidly using the RAM cache again, just after I accessed some questionable websites.

Choose a reliable antivirus solution. Reinstall Windows and check if your RAM is detected by the system.

Check the area for any recent browser add-ons or tools in the control panel. Stick to essentials like Windows Defender and Malwarebytes. Use your judgment wisely.

It's typical for 2GB during idle and 3GB when browsing light content now. (depends on your idle settings) Consider removing unnecessary programs or using msconfig to adjust startup loads. How long have you been using this Windows version? I appreciate the skepticism about everything being a virus.
