Hello everyone, since constructing my PC in November last year I've noticed minor stuttering in most games. Some titles like League of Legends run smoothly without any issues, while others such as Far Cry, Far Cry 5, Rogue Company and Call of Duty Cold War all exhibit some kind of stutter. During these stutters the frame rate drops from 144 to between 130 and 90. Using a G-SYNC compatible monitor should resolve this. At those moments none of my hardware is at full capacity (even CPU cores), temperatures stay within normal ranges, but frame time can spike up to 130+ for just one or two frames. This instability makes the game feel shaky. I've run stress tests with tools like prime95 and memtest and got consistent results on 3D mark checks. What might be causing this?
Do you want to confirm if the details in your signature match your actual system specifications? Since the 5600x wasn’t available at the time, I’m clarifying that.
The power supply appears quite limited, best suited for 3 RX 3070s and a 5600X with around 1000W output.
It's a Ventus 3x 3070 model. Cooler setup with three fans for better performance.
My 3070 is actually a Gaming Ventus 3x with a fan setup (I’ll switch it to standard later)
GPU performance peaks near 75; CPU sits around 70, which feels warmer than usual but after using several coolers it’s manageable. Overall CPU never reaches its maximum, and I monitor each core individually—none of them hit their limits. Dual channel operates at 3000MHz.
The games you're experiencing problems with are similar to those in open-world AAA titles. Could you let us know whether your games are installed on an SSD or HDD? This might help, though I had the same issue before when they were installed on an HDD. Generally, the loading speed was too slow, especially when moving between locations. After switching to NVMe 3.0 and a 2.5-inch SSD, along with relocating your games there, my stuttering problems disappeared. Based on your specs, it seems you likely already have an SSD, but we can confirm. Would you like a test where you lower the voltage and lock the GPU frequency to see if stable FPS is achieved?
