Hey, I'm trying to create a video about intentionally boosting your ping for an online multiplayer game. Unfortunately, this approach doesn't work. I researched and wanted to demonstrate four different ping scenarios—8ms normal, 30ms moderate, 100ms average, and a very high 200ms—to show the differences. The challenge was finding a way to achieve these variations. If anyone has tips or suggestions on games like CS:GO, Fortnite, or PUBG, I'd appreciate it. Thanks a lot!

WiFi restrictions depend on the router model. You might improve performance by placing your PC farther from the device (using a longer Ethernet or Wi-Fi cable) or switching to USB connectivity. Updated February 20, 2019 by BLLDoesTech

I discovered a tutorial on simulating artificial lag using ipfw at the provided archive link. It might be helpful to check it out. Valve also offers a console command called net_fakelag that adjusts in-game latency, though it requires sv_cheats 1 and may not be very practical. Good luck with your project!

It’s not advisable to offer guidance that could put you in legal trouble. Operating in the US without proper authorization is prohibited, and the FCC can impose fines of around $30,000.

No, it's not illegal to use your own Wi-Fi network.

You need to force the signals at 2.4 and 5 GHz. Jamming without permission from authorities or the government is against the law. Simply possessing a jammer is also prohibited.

Are we truly making sense of this by teaching others? We should avoid encouraging more people to repeat the same actions.

Even if its just a demonstration there is no point in showing people. Also it wont work because if you introduce a delay you are only hurting yourself. Its easy to do but I think servers have fixed it since the old days of lag buttons in halo

others have different perspectives on this. i’ll explain it simply:

1) if an enemy stays still in a hallway, you’re both behind a corner—your clients see your positions but can’t see each other due to a wall.
2) peeking from the corner lets your client know the enemy was there, so it renders frames that suggest you’re approaching.
3) shooting before he sees you is effective; watching his analysis on battlenonsense (link provided) might help you understand these tactics better.
