Following a bricked motherboard after a BIOS update, I swapped it with an ASUS ROG Strix B360-G from Newegg. After a fresh Windows 11 install, the Intel I219-V ethernet adapter is working properly over Ethernet—around 25 Mbps, which matches my usual speed. But when I attempt to download larger files, the transfer slows dramatically to about 50 kb/s, far below my expected 2.5 Mb/s. Downloading the same file using a USB Wi-Fi adapter works at full speed. Connecting a laptop via the same Ethernet cable also yields full downloads. It seems the built-in Ethernet adapter isn’t functioning optimally here. I’ve tested various drivers from 2018 to 2022, but nothing resolves the issue. What could be causing this problem?

Checked Intel official drivers at the provided link. Did you set up any network management tools from ASUS? Remove them if present. Avoid installing AISuite3. On Windows services, disable cfosSpeed. After testing your internet speed, are you receiving the maximum bandwidth your ISP offers?

I attempted all the intel drivers available on that site, but performance remained unchanged. I have Armoury Crate installed, yet not AISuite3. It was confirmed that cfosSpeed isn't running under Services. I purchased a USB3 and a TP-Link Gigabit Ethernet port, allowing me to bypass the motherboard's Ethernet entirely. The issue persists with both setups! Download speeds are around 2 Mbps, but switching to Wi-Fi yields 25 Mbps (the ISP's maximum). Plugging the Ethernet cable into my laptop gives full 25 Mbps. I noticed this problem started after replacing the motherboard, and with a fresh Windows 11 installation. It appears the new setup is throttling the Ethernet connection. I'm using Speedtest.net by Ookla for testing. Appreciate your advice!

Problem resolved. After looking online for potential solutions, adjusting the ethernet adapter settings fixed my slow download speeds. Updated the Speed and Duplex options for the ethernet adapter. Opened the Settings window again, chose Network & internet, then Advanced network settings > More network adapter options. Under More network adapter options, switched to More network adapter options. In the Network Connections window, right-clicked the ethernet adapter and selected Properties. Clicked Configure, then advanced tab in the Properties window. Chose Speed & Duplex from the drop-down menu and set it to 100 Mbps Full Duplex. Clicked OK to apply the change. Right after this adjustment, my speed tests returned full 25 mbps. It might have been the auto negotiate setting that wasn’t compatible with my internet provider.
