My device is a Samsung 970 EVO Plus, and the system runs smoothly. When powering it on, the BIOS takes a long time to load. The hardware specs are fine, but I’m curious if there’s anything I can adjust to speed up the boot process. The setup includes an i7-8700K, 4.8GHz, 32GB DDR4 RAM, 3TB SSD, and Intel Optane storage.
Your operating system is set to start on the primary drive, and all additional storage devices are excluded from the boot menu.
"Slow" means everything is functioning properly, almost like everything is in place and ready to go.
A few weeks back, starting up took around 13.2 seconds. Now it varies between 20 and 35 seconds. No new software was added.
Consider reinitializing your CMOS settings. That’s roughly the extent of what I understand.
Others might have a better approach than I do. Since I don’t have direct experience, I’m pretty confident that if you contacted ASUS and mentioned your system’s boot time is 35 seconds, they’d likely respond with a pause like “Okay…?” The jump from 13 to 35 seconds indicates something has changed. Reverting the CMOS could be a solid fix.
