Your Dell 15 3520 features an Intel i5 1135G7, 16GB DDR4 RAM at 3200MHz, and a 512GB SSD. Running CrystalDiskMark shows solid performance, but upgrading to a faster SSD could further enhance speed and responsiveness.

The figures look reasonable for a 512GB device. What concerns you about its speed? In my view, an upgrade might be unnecessary unless the storage is already limited.

I don't believe making this change would create a noticeable difference since the other parts remain unchanged.

The connection is speeding up games at over 4gb/s, yet the SSD continues to operate at 1.5 or lower speeds.

These are typical read and write rates for a Gen 4 Nvme. It’s probably a Micron or SK Hynix storage, which is common in the inspirons I’ve used before. No significant speed boosts occur when switching drives.

It's not an SSD failure at all. The issue is related to PCIe 3.0.

Are you talking about the Steam download rate displayed in the app? Probably not showing a realistic speed unless your connection is fast enough. Good luck if you have a strong internet connection!

8 individuals in one home, each with a phone and tablet. The entire house has 5 TVs, appliances, a security system, air conditioning, and blinds all connected to Wi-Fi. Additionally, 5 of them own laptops while you have a desktop.

Sure, clarify if you're referring to actual storage capacity rather than download speeds. I'm mostly interested in verifying the Steam download rate, not your internet plan.

Used 5gb with a mesh router across three and a half floors—it was extremely slow. We switched to a regular Wi-Fi connection and chose a 10gbps speed. Steam currently displays 3846 Mbps on the same floor.
