I recently had fiber installed in my apartment and with my PC directly connected to the fiber box it's performing excellently (500 Mbit/s up and down). However, when using my Netgear AC1750 router, the speed drops to only 100 Mbit/s. I've experimented with other routers and cables without much improvement. Could there be another solution I should try? Your help would be greatly appreciated.

What is the precise model of the fiber box? Are every port on the fiber box configured for 1Gbps transmission? Was the AC1750 connected directly to the fiber box using the same port you used during your speed test on your computer? Where are you testing your connection speeds? SpeedTest.net and DSLReports.com are typical resources for this purpose. Ensure your network interface cards are set to automatically negotiate the link. You should switch the cables from the fiber box to the AC1750 and then from the AC1750 to the PC. If none of these steps resolve the issue, consider resetting the AC1750 to its factory settings and reconfigure everything.
