You already face slow internet due to your setup. The long Ethernet cable you're using might be weakening the signal, especially over such a distance. Upgrading to a higher-quality cable could help improve performance. Make sure to check the exact length needed for your connection and consider ordering it directly from the supplier.

The cable length isn’t an issue unless it’s of poor quality. I currently have a 150-foot cable in my attic to connect my office via Ethernet, and it functions perfectly despite the coax being unreliable at home.

It's an older cable I've owned for about seven years, and it seems it might need replacing soon—definitely not in the best condition.

What does "slow" mean in terms of internet speed? Which rate do you actually receive from your service provider? Which type of Ethernet cable is being used? Is it equipped with shielding? Have you checked the cable for any damage, sharp turns, or other issues along its path?

It lacks shielding. I’m uncertain about the cable type and the year, though there are some minor issues. My internet speed is below expectations—I don’t know if that’s useful. I’m not the one who installed it, so I can’t confirm.

Well, there you go! There's your issue! Is this DSL? You have a slow internet connection at <1Mbps. If your connection can't go faster than that, this will be the bottleneck of your speeds. Upgrade your package if you want faster speeds. The cable will have writing on it. You'll get the information there. If not, what link speed does your NIC auto-detect it as? But as I alluded to previously: even if you were to upgrade the cable, your speeds are still limited.
