It seems you're wondering about the possible settings for QoS and auto mode. You think the default might be enabled, so you could try disabling it and verify the change.

I think RT-AC66U and RT-AC1750 represent distinct products.

I never imagined QoS would be enabled by default, especially given the performance impact it creates. It seems QoS isn't essential for Gigabit connections in most cases. Still, I’d prefer a PC paired with pfSense for the fastest available link.

In either case, your router won’t perform at its peak speed. Keep in mind that using WiFi will further reduce performance by consuming CPU resources for routing tasks. The maximum rate of ~850Mbit is achieved only when the router handles WAN to LAN wired traffic without any other activity. That’s why I switched to my older router for WiFi-only use and set up a dedicated wired x86 router for broadband. This helped prevent the router from getting overwhelmed by WiFi, which was likely to affect performance eventually. It also let me apply QoS settings to significantly cut down on buffering issues.

The main menu does not contain an option to disable the Traffic Analyzer. There is no setting available to turn it off by accident.

NAT acceleration should definitely be enabled. Consider using jumbo frames disabled. Turning off WiFi during testing might help confirm there are no unexpected connections.
