SLOBS Display Capture can cause lag on your system. RTX 4090 recommended.
I've experienced this problem since getting my RTX 2080 TI. It hasn't bothers me much until recently when I started playing Destiny 2 that blocks Game Capture. Whenever I try Display Capture on SLOBS, streaming to Discord, or watching with friends, I face extreme frame drops, screen tearing, stutters, and poor performance. It only works when I click to start recording or streaming. SLOBS runs as admin, reinstalling drivers doesn't help; x264 and NVENC behave similarly in terms of drops and stuttering. Reinstalling Windows doesn't make a difference. Updating Performance Mode also fails. My GPU usage stays normal, but Destiny 2 claims it's using only 0.2% of my GPU and 25% of my CPU—though I'm still seeing 250-300 FPS. SLOBS uses just 1.2% CPU and 0% GPU even when NVENC is on. Xbox Game Bar is removed, high power settings are active, Gsync is off, NVIDIA Low Latency is set to Ultra, but the issue persists. My monitors are a 360Hz 1080p screen and a 60Hz 1440p display. I'm at my limit trying to capture anything smoothly. Here are my specs if you know of any known issues or solutions. Thank you, Andrew
Also, lag only begins after OBS detects the app, during the initial moments of switching tabs back into the game; it’s normal for the first few seconds of alt-tabbing, but once SLOBS starts streaming and recording, that’s when performance issues appear like stuttering or screen tearing.
