Sleeping Dogs: Triad Wars is an exclusive digital experience available just on PC...only
It’s mainly about the next installment of Sleeping Dogs (Triad Wars). It will launch for PC and needs an online connection. James Baldwin, UFG’s community manager, mentioned it in relation to the upcoming PC release. He added that an AMA will take place on Monday at 12pm PST on Reddit. We’ll likely learn more as the announcement develops. Sources: http://www.pcgamer.com/2014/09/22/sleepi...line-game/ http://www.unitedfrontgames.com/big-news-coming/
I’m not upset at all. The first game was decent, the story wasn’t bad, but the save issues with Steam really frustrated me—I had to restart it about fifteen times, which made me think about playing something more like GTA Online.
There might be a valid reason behind keeping the game always online. It could be related to protecting the content or ensuring smooth multiplayer experiences. If the game doesn’t support multiplayer or co-op, making it always available might be more practical. Otherwise, it could indeed be used for DRM purposes. The design seems focused on maintaining access rather than encouraging social play.
From what I see, Triad Wars seems quite different from Sleeping Dogs, especially since it's a PC-only title. It's great to get feedback from the developers. Recent releases from Western studios have been really positive.
Few details are known about it; it seems to be similar to past events where teams competed closely. It might also function as a monitoring system.
