Hi all, Having issues with my Skyrim Special Edition crashing to desktop during game-play. I am running mods. I've confirmed that its not a corrupted save file (happens regardless of which save file I've loaded). I've also confirmed that LOOT/TES5Edit are not indicating any errors in the load order of my mods or with respect to mod incompatibility. I've enabled in Skyrim's .ini file a feature that logs game errors. I played the game and it crashed. The crash generated the attached log, which I've tried to divide into chunks for ease of reading. Can anyone with experience with this sort of thing take a look at it and point me in the right direction? No idea what I'm looking at here or what might've caused the crash. Further info: I've been running the same batch of mods for quite some time now. The game played fine with no crashes prior to today. I did not install any new mods recently. If I did, I would just uninstall and check if the crashes stopped. Thank you in advance! Papyrus.0.log

It looks like the game files aren’t available. Verify your files—some might be damaged. You might need to reinstall Skyrim.

I plan to remove and reinstall the game. I ran a scan with Steam for damaged files, which detected four issues. They let Steam re-download everything. The post I shared was after I completed this. I really enjoy Bethesda titles. It’s just disappointing they don’t work well.

I tried fixing everything by reinstalling the game, clearing the files, and putting in the mods again, but it keeps crashing unexpectedly.

I might have reacted a bit too quickly to the game. I tried another save attempt and saw a blue screen soon after. I’d been tweaking my RAM overclocking and adjusting my CPU settings earlier, which could have caused instability. It might not have been the game itself. I plan to play the game again and observe further.

Ensure system runs smoothly by testing RAM and CPU at stock settings.

I didn't consider the details crucial since I believed my BIOS settings were unchanged before the crashes began. After switching back to optimized defaults, I observed unexpected adjustments to settings I hadn't planned altering during RAM tests. I reinitialized my CPU overclock to its prior state and ran the game without issues. If I'd known about any BIOS changes affecting my CPU or RAM, I would have reset it immediately. I only verified this step because it appeared on my "last resort" checklist.
