Suggest moving away from Xenius toward newer character texture options. Xenius feels quite dated now. For a fresh look, consider Skysight Skins for males; for females, personal preference matters, but there are many excellent choices ranging from bold to realistic and detailed.
I was watching dansgaming on Twitch since he was editing Skyrim last night, which inspired me to give it a try myself later. I think it’s easy to install—it’s never been done before, honestly!
I prefer staying close to what the game's creators and mod developers envisioned. NPCs introduced by mods such as Interesting NPCs and Inconsequential NPCs lack custom models and will rely on standard assets. Upcoming models and textures might not integrate well with those. Additionally, Xenius maintains a closer connection to the game's original style compared to newer character redesign mods, giving his work a more refined feel rather than a complete makeover. That's why I selected it. Looking ahead, I'm pleased with how my characters appear with this setup and the Superior Lore-friendly Hair mod.
This works well for 960. The only adjustment I’d make is lowering the DoF. I don’t like high DoF though!
Good luck, there's a LOT to find and a lot to have lined up before some story archs will even be available to start. The ones I have done were awesome though. Honestly I wouldn't use completion of 3DNPCs as a meter for using a more diverse selection of visual mods, it'll take forever if you manage to do it (I haven't).
