I play very little gaming, just a few flash games. When free time comes, I aim for about half an hour of play. I bought a GTX 970 and checked Amazon for a PC version of Skyrim. It was advertised at £16, which seemed too low compared to the £40 range I expected. As someone older (52), I worry that fast-paced games might be too stressful for me, especially since I don’t react as quickly anymore. I’m looking for suggestions on first AAA titles. My system specs include a GTX 970 (Strix) with a 4790K GPU, capable of 1080p at 27 inches.

Skyrim offers a great experience and is worth trying on PC. It goes beyond just an expansion for Oblivion or Morrowind. I’ve spent around 400 hours playing through it. The DLCs add a lot of enjoyment. At 16 quid, it feels reasonable for the game. You can earn legendary status for roughly 15 euros. By the way, your system should handle Skyrim easily. You can also modify it—mods like Mirror's Edge and Sonic Generations are quite enjoyable too.

Hey there! Welcome to PCMasterace. Steam sales are great unless you get overwhelmed. What’s your take on this? For games, choose what excites you—everything runs smoothly on PC and works well across platforms. Avoid clunky gamepad setups; pick controls that fit your natural hand position. Speaking of, here are some picks: Civilization 5 FPS, Battlefield (4), Borderlands, Dragon Age Inquisition, Mass Effect collection, Divine Origin Sin, Blackguard, and Skyrim in its base form. If you love it, go all out with SKSE for Skyrim mods. With the right gear, you can tackle almost anything.

I downloaded Skyrim from Steam for $8. A friend got Legendary Edition for around $5 or less, and both were removed from Steam.

consider exploring other options as well. Some titles are available at lower prices beyond Steam promotions; even with discounts, I believe you could find better deals. I remember paying around 4€ for Skyrim on G2A, so I’d recommend checking other platforms. Portal and Portal 2 are solid choices—they’re great for mental exercise without needing super fast reflexes. If you enjoy puzzles, they’re among the top picks. Borderlands is worth a try despite its graphics; I loved it after a few hours of gameplay, even though I initially disliked it. Skyrim remains a solid option too. Just keep in mind that adding mods can consume more time than playing the base game.
