Looking to experience Skyrim on PC for the first time with some quality mods. I’m new to installing mods and just want guidance on tutorials or recommendations so I can begin. My setup includes an Asus ROG pg27aq (4K, IPS, g-sync, 60Hz) soon, and I plan to give Skyrim another try. The system specs are solid: 5820k processor, single 980Ti CPU core, and 16GB RAM—plenty of room before performance hits a wall. I have only light overclocks on my GPU, nothing extreme. Since I’m new to PC gaming, I’m not focused on refresh rates; I’m more interested in visuals. I’m hoping for ENB tutorials or top graphics mods that support 4K. Thanks!

Expect a fully customized Skyrim to perform well at high resolutions on a single 980ti system. If you adjust the graphics options, you should locate a suitable middle ground between visual quality and performance. First, consider using Nexus Mod Manager—it’s a helpful tool. Search for it online and install the newest version. Numerous tutorials are available explaining how to use it and how to add mods via it. For recommendations, begin with essential Skyrim Mods such as SkyUI SKSE, Skyrim Script Extender, Static Mesh Improvement, and other unofficial patches.

Updating my modpack recently gave me a tougher yet playable experience. I’ve faced many setbacks but kept enjoying the game. This pack introduced improved AI for combat, new armor and weapons, enhanced animal behavior, richer environments, improved sound coverage, and a fully remapped audio profile. Overall, it’s my most balanced and immersive collection, still functional after extensive playtime.

Keep following these themes to avoid needing references. Consider Mod Organizer instead of Nexus Mod Manager; MO is also present on Nexus. Tamriel Reloaded HD, Midianborn Book of Silence, Imperial Light and Studded Stormcloak Armor Revival in HD and 4K, plus Ebony Weapon Replacer by Crazy Lion Elven Weapons for Silence, Lind's Robes Revamp texture fix, and The Eyes Of Beauty by Gabriel Mailhot. Potion Replacer 0.2 by Aleanne (LoversLab non-Adult) are available. Nords designs are covered, along with realistic transparent glass armor and weapons from Markarth v3. Dark Nemesis – ENHANCED EDITION – Ebony Set by lKocMoHaBTl. Some mage robe texture replacers were removed due to asset theft issues, but other great options remain. There’s a wide selection of female NPC replacers—explore them. For 4K, start with the bijin mods. On male NPCs, “MacKoms Real Skin for Men” worked well and improved their appearance. I recommend More Dwemer Textures – Markarth ruins and Dwemer relics in HD. Current Dwemer textures aren’t available; check LOD settings and decide your approach. Using Optimizer Textures by AdPipino can boost performance with minimaps without major quality loss, though it uses more storage. Resize oddly sized textures to proper sizes. Think of it as upgrading your car’s fuel for better speed. Feel free to browse the Skyrim Central thread for tips. For ENB, I’m limited by performance constraints and have minimal experience. I really enjoy the Natural Realism ENB videos for NLA by Lunayah.
