Share your complete message. I've checked this on two devices plus a VM lab with limited internet access. I've also seen similar issues before. Microsoft has recognized this issue previously, so it's not unexpected that it's happening again.

On Windows you can follow this guide: http://www.cnet.com/how-to/how-to-disable-ads-in-skype/ Additionally, you can restrict all ad servers in your hosts.txt file. A well-maintained hosts file is quite effective at preventing unwanted content. Very few threats have affected my protection since I set it up. Malwarebytes Premium also helps by blocking malicious adware. I’ve tried both and the outcome is clear—no ads, just empty space where they used to appear.
