Skylake/Z170 XMP Issues
Skylake/Z170 XMP Issues
I know this is a pretty common topic but nothing has seemed to work for me so far. I bought a 16GB TridentZ 3200MHz kit a little over a year ago and havent had any luck getting it to run at it's advertised speeds. I can get it to boot into windows with a couple small changes while running the XMP profile and setting it to its XMP settings manually, but both CPU-Z and Task Manager give me a reading of 2133MHz (1066MHz in CPU-Z). I have the ASUS Sabertooth Z170 S motherboard paired with a 6600k @ stock. I've set the CPU OV jumper to on even though that shouldnt matter, and also have switched from A1 B1 to A2 B2 and both DIMM pairs dont make a difference. I have very adequate cooling so I'm open to all suggestions as far as that goes. Thank you <3
Also: I'm able to get it to 2600MHz with minimal tweaking (only a boost to 1.25V on VCCIO boot, which is high but it boots)

Hyper DIMM capability depends on the CPU's physical design.
The BIOS, updated to the latest firmware, indicates support for speeds above 3200MHz. I also achieved 2600MHz as expected. This should not be due to board limitations.
It's odd they feature it on the home page, assuming anything over 2400 is extra.
It's odd they feature it on the home page, assuming anything over 2400 is a bonus. QVL also mentions supported speeds up to 3466MHz, though my F4-3200C16D isn't listed at all. Feels bad to hear that. Thanks for the fast replies. If anyone else has ideas, I'm willing to listen and try contacting ASUS directly.
