I just set up Skyforge to test it and I’m really happy with the results. While checking my Afterburner stats, the GPU usage stays low—usually between 65-70% even though my graphics card is under heavy load (980ti). The biggest issue is that my FPS plummets significantly whenever there are many other players nearby. It’s not every game that demands full GPU power all the time, but those that feel intense tend to hover around 90-95%. Anyone familiar with the game can you tell me why this happens? Could it be related to the driver or if Skyforge isn’t optimized enough right now?

Are you seeing a frame rate cap? Check if V-Sync is activated.

Vsync works correctly even with a 144Hz display, as it operates based on your monitor's capabilities.

Skyforge offers a smooth frame rate depending on your settings, typically around 60 frames per second at higher resolutions.

Ranges from 60 to 110, averaging around 85. The exact number changes based on the local environment and player count.

110 appears to be an unusual frame rate cap. If it decreases, how does the GPU handle it—does it lower its usage or adjust its clock speed? Which processor are you using?

I mean I can get up to 144 but that's only if I'm staring at a blank wall or something. When my framerate plummets my GPU usage hovers around 50% and my clock speed actually goes down by about 300 MHz. This is dumb though becuase in other areas I get much higher GPU usage and much higher framerates for areas that should be mor eintensive. I have no idea why the presence of other players tanks my framerate so much.

I conducted further tests and observed these results: consistent high GPU utilization around 95-100%, smooth frame rates with steady performance (90+), occasional minor stuttering, and occasional drops to 60-85. In open quest zones I see about 65% usage, while in the main hub I experience 50% usage with GPU throttling. My graphics card is a 4790k.

The issue might lie with the drivers or the game itself. Because V-Sync is active, you could attempt to turn it off.

Vsync isn't necessary because I already use Gsync. It turns out my NVIDIA control panel was set to quality mode. Changing it to performance mode boosted my FPS, though my current rate remains the lowest in the game. I shared the issue on the Skyforge forums hoping someone would explain why this happens. It looks like others are experiencing the same problem.
