I'm setting up an old-school gaming PC and must install Windows XP. However, the activation servers are offline, making it impossible to activate properly. This brings up the main issue: I need a method to skip the activation process so it doesn't interfere or lock me out later. I feel comfortable diving into the registry, so if this approach is necessary, I'm ready for it. P.S.: If it involves "illegal" actions, let me know on my own forums—no problem at all. Pixels Forum

This usually fails to skip the activation step. The Windows copy I own is somewhat pirated and still needs activation, and I don’t have much flexibility to waste time transferring large amounts of data just to get one image I’ll use.

I managed to turn on my Windows XP home key a few days back... Updated: If you're looking for an unpurchased version of XP Home, I have the Service Pack 1a disc from my Compaq Presario R3000 that I can convert to ISO.
