He recently purchased his first computer without an operating system, which caused issues. A family friend installed Windows for him, claiming it was free and without the activation watermark—though it seemed like a cracked version. This prevented his graphics driver from working, leading to game launch problems. I offered to reinstall a genuine Windows copy. Before doing anything, make sure you understand potential risks like malware or instability, and consider verifying the software source to avoid embarrassment. Cheers!

I used a custom KMS server, but that wasn't permitted in this setting. You might attempt it without enabling it, obtain a gray key, or pay Microsoft extra. Another option is Linux.

I understand your approach. I first install it to test functionality, then purchase an OEM key from eBay. I’m curious whether you need to erase the drive to prevent damage or if there are other important steps to consider. Thanks for asking!

It's brand new, so I'm unsure if it'll be useful. Still, I'll give it a shot before reinstalling.

It seems you could have faced bad luck due to an unreliable driver. Wishing you the best of luck!
