I'm facing a tough situation here. On May 9th, I placed an order for new hardware and everything arrived on May 12th. That puts me past the Amazon return period. The items I received are a Ryzen 7950X3D, ASUS Tuf Gaming B650 Plus WiFi, Zotac Gaming RTX 3060ti OC, and G.Skill Flare X5 Series (AMD Expo) with 32GB RAM.

Now comes the tricky part—I'm completely confused about what to do next. I've been experiencing random BSODs lately. My OS is Windows 10, but I've stripped it down to Atlas OS for testing. Usually, I see a blue screen related to NTFS.sys, but sometimes something else. Today, right after the return window closed, my system just shut down completely.

I was streaming YouTube with Fan Control and the fans were running in the background when it happened. The screen went black instantly, all colors vanished, and pressing the power button lit up the RGB lights—even the ones that normally activate when the system powers on or shuts down. After unplugging and replugging the PSU, the board stayed on but didn't respond. The error lights on my Mobo indicated a CPU issue.

I checked the CPU and found two bent pins at the bottom. I was pretty sure they weren’t bent when I first installed it. There were also darker spots on the surface, but they didn’t look like burnt damage from previous issues with the 7950X3D. I noticed some carbon buildup or small clusters of discoloration on the contact pads. I decided to reinstall the CPU, thinking maybe it would fix things. It did boot into Windows after a brief delay, but kept throwing random error codes—something like DRAM flashing first, then CPU, then VGA, and finally a boot loop.

All my BIOS settings reset afterward. With the return window closed, I can’t send it back to Amazon anymore. It’s really frustrating, especially since the main problems started the day after I lost the chance to return them.

Please let me know what I should do next. Thanks for reading, and I appreciate any advice you can offer.

Some notes: My storage is a 1TB SSD with a Sabrent Rocket 2.0 M.2 drive (mainly for gaming). I have a 600W PSU. I also have two PSUs—one EVGA 600B and the one in my system, a Rosewill HIVE 750S with TUF GAMING B650-PLUS BIOS 1601 (not the original). A newer, more stable version is available, which I plan to install tomorrow. In the meantime, AMD Expo can boost RAM speeds, though my current setup was at 4200MHz instead of the supported 6000MHz. Other options are also available in the BIOS.

Try turning off Expo to check for improvement. Also, reinstall the BIOS to a standard Windows version. If the PSU is low quality, it could be contributing to the problem.

Attempt to reduce the exposure to around 5500. It could seem odd, but it caused problems before. Make sure your CPU cooling isn’t tightly secured. I experienced a bunch of BSODs once and loosening my AIO slightly from the motherboard resolved the issue. It wasn’t just over-tightening earlier.

Updated my post with PSU information, though there was a minor issue. I attempted to flash the latest non-beta BIOS onto a flash drive that previously held the beta versions, but no changes were made since then. Now the bios flashback light remains continuously on, showing a steady green light for about an hour, and I don’t want to risk damaging this Mobo.

Board includes Flashback feature. Retrieve dump files if you can return to Windows.

I successfully restored access to Windows and activated the necessary configurations for memory dumps and error logs. In future, I’ll share any BSOD incidents or system crashes I encounter. At the same time, I’m facing persistent issues updating the BIOS, which continues to fail.

I discovered a faulty transistor on the Mobo and returned it for repair or replacement within the warranty period.

If there were bends in the pins and other physical harm, most of the problems would stem from that.
