Hey everyone, I'm facing a tricky issue that needed some teamwork to fix. I switched from the I5-10500 to the I7-11700, which is great, but now my internet speed dropped significantly after the CPU upgrade and one MOBO update. Now I’m getting only 950-970 Mbps, which isn’t ideal. My plan was 1 Gbps, but Steam/Epic are capping it at around 11-12 MB/s. After disconnecting and reconnecting, speeds sometimes reach 40 MB/s, but Coop plays are really frustrating—after about 20 minutes of streaming, everyone gets kicked out. My PC specs are pretty solid: I7-11700 RTX3060 Ti, ASUS Prime Z590-Z, M2 chipset, 1 TB SSD, and a 2.5 TB Samsung 980 Pro in PCIe 4 slot. I’m hoping someone can help me get back to normal speeds.

No, I haven't visited the motherboard's website or downloaded any LAN drivers myself.

It seems you're wondering if outdated drivers might be leading to issues with internet performance, especially when using both WiFi and Ethernet. Have you noticed a consistent decrease in speed across both connections?

I performed a fresh setup of the w11 during a MMO switch. After a few complaints, I switched the router with the internet service. The provider recommended a new cable, which I followed. The Wi-Fi is extremely unreliable, just like on the cable connection. I saw some suggestions for drivers on forums about using NVMe, so I considered it. System identification shows my connection speed as 1000/1000Mbps.

Are there any additional devices connected to the network, such as another PC or NAS, that you could use for a transfer? This helps confirm if the router is involved. If you link a laptop to your motherboard's RJ45 port, you can directly move a large file to test functionality.

I tried changing M2 to PCIe Gen 3 and it worked now.

It was strange, but it was obvious it would be unusual like that. Thanks for discovering a solution!

I’d assume it’s likely an issue with the CPU’s SOC or the motherboard’s chipset, possibly due to bandwidth problems. This isn’t typical, which is good news since the network issue was fixed.
