Remove it. They haven't been used in years.

The settings in CCLeaner are configured to start automatically and scan automatically. Disable that feature.

That. ^
I've relied on CCleaner for years and genuinely don't have any issues with it... but I don't perform automated tasks nor do I install it on Windows. Everything is done manually, with my own scans.

It's puzzling to me why someone would choose to install a Norton product and keep it running. It seems logical that Norton acquired Avast and its subsidiary Piriform in 2021, so it wouldn't be surprising if similar Norton monitoring tools were integrated into ccleaner pro. The same applies to Avira, which was acquired in 2020. I find some of the standalone Norton programs useful, but I don't install them and leave them active. Even though I sometimes use bootable Ghost for imaging, I still encounter issues with other cloning methods after Windows 7. I'm fine running ccleaner free and removing it, though I usually avoid many of their registry cleanup options. Not leaving it running and keeping an eye on the system is definitely not something I'd do.
