I’m sorry ahead of time because it turned into quite a long, frustrated speech. But if you take the time to read it, I’d really appreciate it.

I played Sims 3 on a 360 for about a week since I borrowed it from a friend. I thought it was enjoyable, so when I saw it on sale for PC recently, I decided to buy it. However, I noticed a bunch of expansion packs available—some costing nearly the same as the original game and only adding a handful of features. One even brings in seasons. Really?!

I own Total War: Rome 2 and there’s a mod that adds seasons too, but it doesn’t cost much—like $40. All this seems unnecessary since the base game already had enough. Plus, they’ve introduced SimPoints, allowing you to pay for extra content like new rooms or items. If you’re after the experience developers intended, you’d have to spend around $500 on a game that doesn’t feel very engaging.

It’s frustrating that they charge so much for what should be included already. Sure, it’s fun sometimes, but it’s not that impressive development-wise. They seem to think people will pay extra just to “milk” them. That’s why I’m upset—this game feels like a waste of money.

If you want the experience they promised, you’d have to spend hundreds just for a few extras. It makes me annoyed thinking about how they push this kind of content. Thanks EA for not making it worth your while.

I also wanted to mention that after seeing these issues, I looked for mods but found they required membership fees. What? Why? I’ve never played a game where you need payment just to download something. Many sites claimed it was free, but some demanded money. That’s ridiculous.

As someone who mods and programs games, I’m offended by this. When I create content, I expect it to be shared freely so others can enjoy and improve it. None of the mods I’ve seen for this game are impressive—they all look average. I’ve made my own changes, so I’m not naive.

I also don’t mean to upset anyone, but going through all these restrictions made me feel excluded. I thought I could use the game without them, but they insisted on buying expansions. That’s unfair.

Between the expansions, SimPoints, and some odd modders (talking about other games too), I’m not surprised. I’d only make an exception if a mod was truly exceptional and well-made.

This game really angers me because of all the unnecessary costs and restrictions. I’m not going to buy another EA product anytime soon—they just want money.

Another thing I’d like to add is that after this mess, I tried to find mods but ended up needing a membership to download them. What? Why? I’ve never played a game that required such fees. Some sites said it was free, but others made me pay. That’s just absurd.

As someone who mods myself, I take offense at this. When I create content, I want it freely available so everyone can enjoy and benefit from it. None of the mods I’ve seen for this game are worth the effort. If you want what developers envisioned, you’d have to spend around $500 on a game that doesn’t feel very worthwhile.

It’s frustrating to deal with Sims and EA in general. Don’t even mention those recycled sports games like FIFA and Madden—they’re stuck with outdated graphics and poor physics. They don’t care about their product, yet people keep buying them. Why?

The last FIFA I bought was FIFA 11 because I realized how unoriginal and unchanged the versions had become. If you managed to finish it, thank you for your time and effort in listening.

If you have similar complaints about these gaming issues, feel free to share them and let your frustration out.

Also, I apologize if my tone came across as offensive or if my statements were wrong—I wrote this while I was upset and didn’t double-check everything.

A solid 15 minutes can be really helpful—just focus and get it done!

Well, if you think the DLC is too expensive, I have a MIND blowing suggestion for as little as 24 payments of $19.99. DON'T FUCKING BUY IT

Based on what you observed, it seems the Sims has consistently provided a lot of DLC content. That’s the way it’s always been done.

Having a lot of cash isn’t just about numbers—it feels impressive, even with small bills. I’m not overweight, but seeing five-dollar bills seems like it costs more than playing Sims 3.

I didn’t read your entire message, but from what I understood, the main point is that the expansions seem unnecessary and costly. My girlfriend and I both own the base game, yet we only have three expansions, which feels unfair. It would be better if they were included in the base version so we could all enjoy them together. It’s simple enough, and the developers should be appreciated for not making this a hassle.

The game was made around 2009, and naturally it doesn't look as good now. Which games enhance their visuals after years of being released without major updates? I think most people get frustrated with constant money demands. But DLC is worth it—you need it to play the game properly, so if you want a season you should pay for it.

It's not about the presence itself but the expectation it should have in the main game.

They question why individuals take things. They simply repeat the identical dialogue sequences.
