Simplified backup options for Windows reinstalls
I've experienced some unfortunate incidents during a clean window reinstall where I saved all the usual files like videos and photos, but missed important things such as game saves and Minecraft screenshots. Now I'm more careful, though each time I think there might be something else hidden away that I overlook—possibly just a small setting or configuration. I'd appreciate any suggestions on what to check or backup next time. Do you have similar concerns? Any tips would be great!
I create backups of the full user profile and C:\ProgramData, restoring items only when needed. Ideally, I also take a complete drive image with Macrium Reflect before reinstalling, so I can keep it for reference until I’m sure I have everything required. Right now I’m doing that.
