Hello! It's great to hear you're back into gaming after a break. To remember keyboard shortcuts efficiently, consider organizing them by category or theme, using consistent naming conventions, and practicing regularly. You might also find it helpful to create visual aids or cheat sheets for quick reference.

Sure, just stick with them, right? That’s usually the way I go. Particularly when they’re useful.

Witcher 3 works well with a few tricks—alt for dodging, space for rolling. I rely on mouse button scroll for quick actions like quen axii yrden. You might find it easier to check the key bindings in the settings menu; they should feel more natural after a bit of practice.

For Witcher 3 style games, I prefer playing with a controller. OT: just stick to the usual keys or adjust them to suit your needs.

I believe no matter how much you play, there will always be titles with controls you'll need to adapt to (MGS5 on keyboard, you know). It's a good idea to experiment with various input methods first to find what feels more comfortable. If possible, you can reconfigure your keyboard keys to suit your preferences. Consider using a second monitor with the keys visible, but mostly focus on playing and getting familiar. Refer back to the controls menu when you're stuck, otherwise just keep pressing. I hope you've had a great time coming back to gaming!

I printed several A4 sheets of keyboard layouts and marked the keys with different colors to show what each one does. This was my attempt to learn flying with a controller. For FPS games, I suggest starting with something simple. BF4 uses many keys and functions vary by vehicle, so TF2 is a good first step. Once you have basic keys in mind, you can add more actions. My entire FPS key setup is based on the BF2 layout, which I adapted to fit my needs. When playing CoD4, I mapped certain keys like 3 for throwing and V for smoke, with smoke coming from the C key for push-to-talk.

You can enjoy any game with a 360 pad. I used to play GTA V, now I’m playing MGS V on a 360 pad with FPS, using just keyboard and mouse. Most games have similar controls, so you adapt fast.

The controller functioned properly. I'm now dedicating more time to gaming instead of spending with my wife. Mission Accomplished (just a joke)
