I’m searching for an enjoyable free-to-play strategy game that works smoothly on both PC and Mac. It should suit your father’s preferences and be compatible across platforms. Let me know if you’d like some suggestions! P.S. Your dad’s laptop is great for this kind of game.

As discussed, my dad is wary of the risks tied to virtual environments, especially after bootcamp. I also understand he uses a laptop where the older version of Command & Conquer doesn’t support built-in graphics natively—possibly only discrete GPUs. I’d rather avoid dealing with game file modifications altogether.

It's not a vulnerability at all. macOS can be just as secure as other systems like Windows and Linux distributions. Even if someone prefers not to install a full system, using a virtual machine remains a safe option.

It’s possible I’m mistaken. Check the linked discussion for more details. I also wanted to mention being a bit extra cautious about security.

I understand this. A solid virtual machine is similar to a reliable system; the likelihood of something entering the VM is just as low as with a standard setup, and the risk of escaping the VM is even lower. And MacOS being more secure? Don’t let me laugh—there are just as many issues with it as with Windows. Trust me, it’s not as safe as it seems.

In fact, I think it's more secure mainly due to its obscurity rather than strong security measures. That's a different issue altogether.

Looking for other options? I can suggest a few alternatives to consider.
